It's gets under my skin, to see you giving in...

exhausted

current mood: exhausted
current song: Three Days Grace - It's all over

Been in pain for the past couple of weeks. Started with a simple headache and a feeling of tightness in my leg that just wouldn't go away. After a week underway the headache went away but the tightness in my leg remained. Had the hospital corpsman(HM) poke and prod it the second week to be told it was probably just a deep bruise; though I think something like that I would remember doing to myself and some sort of evidence (a bruise perhaps...) would be evident. Luck would have it the moment I stepped off the ship it didn't bother me but I decided a slight sprain of the wrist would be worthwhile...wow, I think I should just not get up in the morning, too bad I have duty tomorrow ;).

Time is quickly ticking down till the end of my Hawaiian adventure, can't say I'll miss the place but I'll miss doing the work if that makes any sense. I'm thinking that the orders to Coronado will be finalized here soon and I've been packing most of my high priority items to send to my house so that they can be quickly sent wherever I finally end up. I still need to get a few more items checked off the list before I leave though, most importantly a tour of the Missouri and the Arizona.

I need to start running a doing a bit of lifting as well to prep for the transfer. I still think I might've stepped into the wrong room on this one but in the long run it will be of great benifit for me to get the training so when I do go into the Border Patrol I can have a leg up on any competition that might be gunning for the job I want. I've got my fingers crossed for a nice frosty post right on the Montanan/Canada border. Any place that will get me away from the damn heat. Still, I need to get through Coranodo first and that might be something else entirely.

Ah, before the sandman finally gets me, I just wanted to touch on my recent post about the Seti project. I was surprised to find out my new laptop had crunched so much in the two weeks I was away. Compared to my old laptop the dual core platform is crunching through 10 to 20 regular tasks or one large task every day compaired to my previous crunching of three normal tasks in one day and one large in two to three days. Looked into some other projects that I could do and found Primegrid, it specializes in...you guessed it, prime numbers. Some of the work is working on better crypto keys for secured communications, something I'm always interested in. The work done isn't going to get me any science prizes but it's cool to see that my idle computer cycles can be put to good use even while I'm floating out on the water.

Ah, the sandman attackth. I must be off, Take care all!

Thank you and I am doing better. Wrist is still a tad tender but it will heal within the next few days so I can start with some light lifting at least to keep my own promise to myself.

I see you are still doing good work in the photography area, keep it up, they look great. I hope everything else begins to fall into place for you as well.

It is never too late to orginize a short vacation but I would suggest going somewhere in the states instead. I'm sure you will just find more of the same here in Hawaii as you would at home. Though, if you are wanting to be pampered, a visit to Oahu or the Big Island would be just what you need. It seems that these islands excell at catering to the tourist.

I am hoping that the ship does a short visit to the PI on our next cruise. It is never garrentied but a change of pace from hitting the same ports over and over again would be nice. It would be also another place that I could say I geocached in and if past experiances can give any indication it would be a blast to do it there as well.
