Sea World, San Diego

Above is a sampling of the pictures taken during my wonderful time at Sea World yesterday. More on that later. Managed to make it down to to the Gas Lamp district with my co-workers last Friday. Wasn't able to make it to my favorite pub because they wouldn't allow someone with only military ID through the door. One of the group didn't have anything else so we moved on to Nicky Rottens and I got my hands on their jalapeno burger and had a great meal. One of my co-workers had never seen an Irish Car Bomb drunk outside the movies so when I ordered it they watched in rapt fascination as it went down. Of course this ended up with them downing their first and it was good times all around. Still peeved that I wasn't able to get my 25yr Bushmills but Nickys' had 1608 that was almost as good. Service was pretty good even with the crowd and the night was started after a Johnny Walker Black for the road.

Made our way to Gas Lamp Tavern and I ran into my first...bathroom attendant. Heheheh, if only the service out on the floor was as prompt as that guy turning on the water and putting soap into my hands I would've had a blast at that place. Just downed a Guinness and we were on our way.

Xavier’s wasn't as crowded as the other places, probably due to a cover charge, but the atmosphere was pretty good and I tried the house amber ale and ended the night with some Johnny Walker Black. Due to the very expensive prices for the alcohol, and no food at all being served after ten, I wouldn't recommend going to this place unless you really want to get away from the crowds.

Spent most of Saterday being bugged by house keeping and trying to play some Natural Selection. The internet was being very slow and the day so warm that I just spent the day guzzling water to help a fever blister that had formed due to me not downing enough water the previous day.

Sunday I was able to finally get together with a high school classmate and we had a blast going to Seaworld. It was her first time going to the San Diego Sea World and only my third so there were still quite a few things that needed to be seen between the two of us. First up was the Pets Rule show where dogs, cats, birds, and even a pig managed to get laughter from the crowd as they did their thing.

Next up was the Shark exhibit. My friend loves sharks though I do not share her enthusiasm for the creatures it was cool to go under the glass and see all of the predators floating above you. After the sharks was Clyde & Seamore's risky rescue. Mimes, seals, and even a manatee provided a good show for the crowd. Though I think the mismatched navel uniforms and customs provided more entertainment for my friend and I...heheheh.

Believe was a great show. The orcas were awesome and the trainers provided some great acrobatics for the crowd. I will have to say that the Dolphin show provided the greatest moment due to one of them coming right up in front of us and dousing us with water repeatedly. For future audiences I will not give away the funniest moment but just be prepared for one of the parents to be very clumsy and provide some great moments for the crowd. Last but not least I managed to get my greatest shot of the day. I noticed something out of the corner of my eye and looked over to see.... a guy with a full sized, pink, Hello Kitty back pack walking off the benches. Snapped a great picture of this and put it into the gallery for all to see...of course he was carrying it for his daughter but I made sure to cut her out of the picture :D.

After the shows we hit both Journey to Atlantis, and Shipwreck rides and became completely soaked again but had a blast. The ride home put a damper due to both of us getting phone calls giving us problems to deal with but the day was fun and that was all that mattered.

P.S. I'm so close to getting a house and so excited....:D.

By "close to getting a house" do you mean you've put an offer in for one?

Been nagotiating for this one for around two months now. Finally brought down the price where it was tempting to buy but there was another offer in before us. It expires at midnight so I've got my fingers crossed on being able to actually make the purchase.
