Thirteen + miles later...

November 7th, 2007 (09:42 pm)
enthralled

current mood: enthralled
current song: Foo Fighters - The Pretender

Last sunday I had the urge to do a bit of geocaching, needless to say after tromping around, in and out of the many parks that dot this island my feet have been rubbed raw by my sandels but I have emerged even more determined to find more of them. Kinda hard to discribed the feeling when you find something that you probably walked by on a daily basis that most people do not know about but it makes the many "It's only another half a mile." worth it. Though at the end of the day when it's getting dark and you need to walk six miles to get back to civilization it can be interesting... :).

Only two Cache's that day but managed to deposit my Jeep Travel bug and found a Geocoin, also found another TB but wasn't able to help it on its mission. This weekend I will be attending a flash mob! Will be posting pictures on my profile on Geocaching.com. :)

i remember doing the same item in Palma, Spain, and in Toulon France.
Just that primeval urge to go out on foot and explore.
we say we are looking for something geological, but we are really looking for that which is deep inside yearning to be free...or is that just gas from the mess deck buritos?

*****EDIT*****

Okay so it's been a busy duty day...sorry bout that one. Reminds me of when I was in Bahrain and we went off base to find out how the lay of the land was. Tried to get into a classy resturant with belly dancers but we didn't make a reservation, then proceeded to hang out at a mall on the other side of town till that evening to go to a cool little resturant called Brazil. All you could eat and drink seven course meal with free transportation both to and from the base. Good memories and hope to get more in the coming years.
