I am the Alpha to the seventh power, the Omega in its last hour...of sanity!!!!!

current song: Bionic Jive - I shot Lucifer

Alright so its not that bad...The people I work with (in my space) are pretty awesome and the equipment I work with doesn't throw a shit fit too often. The deployment is slowly but surely winding to the end and I may get to participate in the crossing of the line soon (the last legal tradition of the Navy that isn't corrupted by the assholes of political correctness; though they try...), and I get four hours of *!*!*!uninterrupted*!*!*!*! sleep each day, which is awesome. Add to this having actual port visits is all sorts of OMGWTFBBQ wonderful, short they may be, being on solid ground, being able to get away from the ice chest for a short period, having a bed you cannot touch the edges of, and that you sink into a good six inches is indescribable.

Now we get to the good stuff. Remember a few sentences ago where I told you I got along pretty good with the people from my space, the same is not true with some of the others around the ship....Fact of life, general quarters sucks, there is no getting around this and you must live with this small pain. It doesn't help to complain about it and not do the job, which may save you, your shipmate, and the ship, properly. Do the job, do it right, and do it without being asked, and the people who come aboard and don't care if you are hot and tired after standing the night watch will not bug you. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH CAPSLOCK FOR MY RAGE!!! I have asked politely, I have followed the chain of command, I have been aboard for over a year, spell my damn name right. I am Scottish, German, and Native American decent, nowhere in my blood lays any Asian decent. Take the damn "N" out or face the wrath of generations of templar embodied in my size twelve foot being placed, with sufficient force, in a sensitive area, to make your descendants feel it.

Besides those two issues the fact that with the deployment almost over and that the drills have intensified in anticipation of a very short turn around to a next long underway have got me feeling rather down. The fact that mail doesn't arrive with any regularity doesn't help. I look forward to the time that I will be able to spend with my girlfriend in Hawaii, and yes it will be funny to see her reaction as I freak out during the flights back to the states. I just wish that that time would hurry up and get here...a little under two months left, oh how sweet the sound will be when "Moored" comes over the 1MC as the line goes pier side Pearl.

i am having trouble with your link to read more of your ranting...
...wait a second...you have NOT been forced to kiss king Neptune's belly yet? You have crossed the line and not perform this ritual?
I can just hear it over the 1mc..."Petty Officer Sarge, please report to the engine room" Then you will be stripped down to your underwear and force to crawl through the bilges to approcah King Neptune. Then you must kiss his belly. Engineers have a tendecy to slam their heads hard into the belly.
aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh

The link was the origin of the quote so the flamers wouldn't be too harsh. The link had an extra backslash, it should be fixed now. As for the crossing of the line we had a chance a few months ago but more important duties canceled that and our port visit. Hopefully we get to do it soon because I would hate to hit port and still be a wog. Appreciate you taking the time to read the rant it was quite enjoyable to create :).

I bet you also have fond memories of ATG (Afloat Training Group, among the more pc definitions of that acronym...;)). I just hope the people I'm working with pull there heads out of their asses before they come aboard or we will be in for a grand ol time.

"THIS IS A DRILL THIS IS A DRILL. FIRE FIRE FIRE! CLASS BRAVO FIRE IN THE ENGINE ROOM!
GENERAL QUARTERS GENERAL QUARTERS! ALL HANDS MAN YOUR BATTLE STATIONS!"
It is at this time all lights go out and the engineers just kick back and relax because the drill says they all died in the fire XD
